   Leitirm’s Landmark Hotel is delighted and honoured to announce that it has been awarded by Ireland’s top two wedding forums as the Best Wedding Venue in Connaught 2012! These prestigious  accolades are the result of nominations and votes by those who know best – Connaught’s Brides & Grooms!

In February last, at the WeddingsOnline.ie awards ceremony in Dublin, Carrick-on-Shannon’s Landmark Hotel outshone stiff competition to be honoured with the esteemed award of Wedding Venue of the Year 2012. The WeddingsOnLine.ie Awards honour and celebrate excellence in the Irish wedding industry, they are open to Irish wedding professionals who continually go the extra mile for brides & grooms and who have a proven commitment to outstanding customer service. The accolade of Wedding Venue of the Year – Connaught 2012is a testament to the level of service and the dedication each and every Bride & Groom receives at The Landmark Hotel.

In March – another of Ireland’s leading on-line wedding forums – RealWeddings.ie set about finding the elite Service Providers within the Irish Wedding Industry w hen they invited their clients – Ireland’s Brides & Grooms, to nominate Service Providers they deemed ‘The Best’. For the second consecutive year, the award for Best Wedding Venue Connaught found its way to Carrick-on-Shannon and The Landmark Hotel.

The Landmark Hotel has been shortlisted for Wedding Venue of the Year and Wedding Coordinator of the Year annually since the inauguration of the WedddingOnLine.ie Awards.  And it’s Wedding Co-ordinator - Patricia Corrigan has won the impressive accolade of Wedding Coordinator of the Year in both 2010 & 2011!

And now, for the 3^rd consecutive year, The Landmark Hotel receives national recognition for  excellence. Delighted owner Ciaran Kelly has this to say;

Keith Barry Brings 8 Deadly Sins to Carrick-on-Shannon (5th Feb 2012)

Following a hugely successful opening and 5 week run in the Olympia in Dublin with his brand new show Keith Barry - 8 DEADLY SINS,  Keith returns in Jan/Feb 2011 for a full National Tour.  After Keith’s sold out Asylum tour in January 2011, Keith went immediately to LA where he filmed his first ever US Tv Series  “Deception with Keith Barry” for the Discovery Channel.  The new show delivers buckets of Keith’s familiar unique brand of outrageous, controversial and downright hilarious entertainment.  Keith is among a handful of acts that can fill the Olympia for a 5 week run.  

Keith Barry is now one of the world’s leading international Mentalists and the leading TV Mentalist.  After staging over 75 sold out live shows of  “Keith Barry – The Asylum”  in the last year, Keith’s new TV series “Deception with Keith Barry”, started production again in Jan 2011.  The show was was picked up for a full season of 12 shows following great ratings for the pilot which aired in June 2010 on The Discovery Channel.  In 2010, Keith also hosted his first season of Endemol UK produced “Deal or No Deal” for TV3 and is looking forward to it returning next year.

Keith was awarded the prestigious Merlin Award for "Mentalist of the Year 2009" from the International Magicians Society. The Merlin Award is to magic what the Oscars are to movies with past winners of the Merlin Award being David Copperfield and Siegfreid & Roy.  2009 also saw Keith gaining the title “Best Magician in Las Vegas 2009” as voted for by the Las Vegas Review Journal show critics after he finished up an impressive 5 week residency at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino to rave reviews.

The Landmark WINS Best Wedding Venue Connaught 2011 & Wedding Coordinator of the Year 2011!!

2 Out of 3 Ain't Bad!      The Landmark Hotel was Shortlisted for 3 National Wedding Awards and Wins 2!

Our Winning Team was shortlisted for WeddingsOnLine.ie Connaught Wedding Venue of the Year and Wedding Planner of the Year 2011. We were also delighted to learn that we the shortlist for the RealWeddings.ie Best Wedding Venue Connaught.

Being nominated for such prestigious awards is a great honour especially as all nominations come from the people who know best - from Brides and Grooms, their family & friends. To you all we extend our heartfelt gratitude.

Once nominated it was all down to the judges and we are thrilled to announce that they were pleased and that we outshone the competition! The Landmark's  Wedding Planner Patricia Corrigan has once again won Wedding Planner of the Year and The Landmark has been awarded Best Wedding Venue Connaught! 2 out of 3 ain't too bad at all!!! 

At the WeddingsOnline awards ceremony in Dublin’s Crown Plaza Hotel last Valentine's Night, The Landmark Hotel which was shortlisted in two categories, was honoured with Wedding Planner of the Year, in the shape of Patricia Corrigan. This announcement made it 2 in a row for Patricia and her team; the unprecedented achievement of winning Wedding Coordinator of the Year 2010 and 2011.

The Landmark Hotel, renowned for its top class weddings offering, was delighted at the good news. Owner Ciaran Kelly said “ We are very proud of Patricia, and indeed all the Wedding Coordination team, which always goes that extra mile to achieve the perfect day for every bride and groom . We are delighted to have won Wedding Planner of the Year as it is truly a testament to our outstanding standards”.

Patricia Corrigan, Wedding Planner at the Landmark and previous winner of Wedding Planner of the Year 2010, was overjoyed to be a winner once more

 “I am delighted to receive this accolade, and I am accepting it on behalf of the entire Landmark Wedding Team. We have enjoyed such outstanding weddings again this year and for us, winning means that we have clearly succeeded in making brides and grooms dream-days come true.”

Last week, it was a historical week for voting, a week that won’t be quickly forgotten by our politicians nor by the Wedding Industry. Realweddings.ie announced their W’Oscars on Thursday last following a long and gruelling few weeks of voting to find the elite of Ireland’s Wedding Suppliers. The Landmark was nominated for Best Wedding Venue Connaught and Shortlisted for same. It was then put to the vote and  the people of Ireland were invited to select their winning teams. With in excess of 1,300 unique votes, The Landmark received the Wedding Oscar for Best Wedding Venue Connaught.

Marketing Manager, Aoife McCormack had this to say, ““It has been an incredible year for us, beginning with the phenomenon news that Patricia had been awarded Wedding Coordinator of the Year for 2010 and now here we are again with 2 more awards!! We’re all over the moon! It’s a great time for the Team and it’s great to see them receiving such high praise for all the hard work. Thankfully, 2010 was a very busy year for The Landmark as we celebrated amazing wedding days with a lot of very special and loved up couples. We work hard to ensure that each couple loves every minute of the planning process and of course the big day itself. Landmark is Shortlisted for 2 WeddingsOnLine.ie Industry Awards!

The Landmark Hotel is shortlisted for WeddingsOnline.ie Awards!

The Landmark Hotel is thrilled to announce that it has been shortlisted for the WeddingsOnline.ie Industry Awards!

In not one but two categories, The Landmark Hotel, Carrick on Shannon, has outshone competition and  been honoured with a shortlisiting for Wedding Planner of the Year (Patricia Corrigan) and for Hotel Wedding Venue of the Year.

The judging is currently underway, and the winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony on Monday, 14 February 2011 in Dublin. What better way to spend Valentines Day than at the WeddingsOnline.ie Awards!

The Landmark, renowned for its top class weddings offering, is delighted to be nominated for two awards. Owner Ciaran Kelly had this to say, “We work very hard at delivering the best wedding service possible for our brides and grooms and we are very proud of our team here at the Landmark, which always goes that extra mile to achieve the perfect day for every bride and groom . Get into the festive season this coming Saturday evening, Dec 18th, at The Landmark Hotel, where Christmas will be in full swing!

 In aid of St Vincent De Paul, The Landmark Hotel is playing host to a special festive evening when the students of Gaelscoil Liatroma will perform a medley of Christmas Carols.

At this time of the year, it is important that we all do our bit, to reach out to and support those less fortunate. Colleen Quinn “Memory Lane” Art Exhibition

On Sunday 31st of October why not take a trip down “Memory Lane”.

Well known Ballinamore artist, Colleen Quinn, welcomes you to join her and enjoy her exhibition in The Landmark on Sunday next, 31st Oct.

Originally from Chicago where she studied art and among other qualifications got her Bachelor of Fine Art in Graphic Design. Now living just outside Ballinamore with her husband Donal and three children in an area that just inspires creativity, Colleen is well known for the beautiful and sensitive images that she draws and paints.

This exhibition really does take you down Memory Lane. Executed in pastels, charcoal or watercolours, the pictures strike chords in ones memories, either of past childhoods or tales from parents or grandparents.  The nostalgia of “Uncle Paddy`s Truck”, “Gran`mas Chair”,  “Fair Day” and “Farmers Buckets” remind us of scenes not that long in the past; the excitement of “Race to school” and the gentleness of “Buddy”, interspaced with pictures of flowers, an old fashioned pink rose, so soft you could almost touch it or the orchids that still sit on so many windowsills. All these and a lot more, combine into a worthwhile exhibition to call in and visit.

The exhibition “Memory Lane” will be opened on Sunday 31st October (yes - Halloween!) from 10am until 6pm.

The Landmark Times

What a year 2010 is turning out to be!

The year began with the phenomenal news that our Wedding Coordinator - Patricia Corrigan had been awarded the national accolade of ‘Wedding Coordinator of the Year’ and that the Hotel had been shortlisted for ‘National Wedding Venue of the Year 2009’. Not a bad start!

Since then it has been a busy schedule from welcoming the North West Simon Community’s Masquerade Ball to welcoming Keith Barry’s Asylum Tour. We have hosted fabulous birthday parties, wonderful family and school reunions and we have celebrated many magnificent stylish weddings.

All in all we are delighted to say that 2010 is proving to be a busy year at The Landmark. And now as we approach the Festive Season we are preparing for and looking forward to many more memorable evenings spent with you as you celebrate Christmas with your family, friends, colleagues and clients!

Volumn 3 of The Landmark Times shares some of these events with you and I hope will give you an insight into The Landmark.
